Hi to all.

I wish to know more about this component for sale in Cytron Technologies, EM Door Lock (HD-EMLOCK-S). I would not be using this component for the purpose it was design so i wish to know about its power rating (W). Also, I wish to know how does this component work, as in do I energize it to enable the magnetic (fail-safe) or de-energize it to enable (fail-secure), as I will be using this to lift objects and I don't want it to drop if there is a sudden power outage. Hope to hear you soon.

Regards,
Furball

From our measurement, at 12V, the magnetic lock will consume 280mA of current. So P = VI, = 12V x 0.28A = 3.36 W.

It will only generate magnetic power when it is energized with electric power.
