What type of sensor?

Hi, im new and i need some help with my project. My project is about when there is smoke/vapour in a designated area is detected, the fan will be turn on itself. What kind of sensor should i use? Coz i can't seem to find the smoke sensor so i was thinking of using humidity sensor. Can i use one? Like when theres smoke = high humidity = turn on the fan. Please help. Thanks.

Hi. but what is the size of this smoke detector? does it buzz? i dont know if it fits my model coz it seems big. Thanks.
