If you go for low cost and easy to use solution, this is suitable for you. But this sensor sensitivity may effect by the lighting inside the ROBOCON games. You have to test it.

hi,

LSS05 is intended for simple project. the suitability of it for robocon will need to be tested. the sensing range of LSS05 is also limited to 1 to mayb 3 cm range. the output from LSS05 is digital.

so what is suitable for robocon "SICK Digital Fiber Sensor" @ "SUNX Digital Fiber Sensor" @ any else suggestion?

Both SICK & SUNX are suitable...i personally never heard of any complain yet.
