What is the application of the FSR402 in your project? The FSR402 is very sensitive. It detects 0.1N to 10N. Was your project dealing with atmospheric pressure, measuring weights/pressure or just used as a touch switch?

There are similar items from Cytron and RS components but I dont know whether they are applicable to your project or not. They are both available in Malaysia. Take a look here:

But if you want to get the exact thing, you have to order it from the US of A here:

Looks like an interesting project. The designer used MCP601 because it has very low current consumption as it is CMOS. So the 9V battery can last longer. Are you going to interface the 5V output to a PIC? But you still didnt tell us what you are measuring.

Since the FSR is very light, I think the postage from US to Malaysia wouldn't be very high. Do let us know about the progress of your project here. ;) Nomally big companies like digikey will accept credit card or Paypal. So do enjoy your project.

helo again,
the project supposed not using software..maybe or just use MATLAB for simple calculation only..
i could not spend many hours on the project..sry for less effort because due date quite close, and
so i'm using LED as the indicator(possible?) or...other indicator as the output
btw, about order it by internet and its will be posted from US and..i hope the taken time is short and not costly(around RM40 and below...) OR can i make FSR on my own?
i just found one website provide instruction to make it with simple materials but i'm afraid that miss some important characteristic..
check out this DIY FSRs website

Ordering things from USA has always been a pain for me. That's why i list it at the bottom of the 3 choices. I remembered I once ordered 50 pcs each of 26C31 and 26C32 in SMD from Digikey. They wanted me to fill in a form stating what the chips were used for, full details of my company profile and my position in my company. The chips were packed in a bubbled envelope and the postage was, AFAICR, $24 or $30 by USPS. Luckily the chips costed more than the postage that time and they were used for repairing my company's equipment, so I placed the order. The chips arrived 2 weeks later and I had to go through customs to get them out. If I were to get the chips urgently, I'd have to pay even more for DHL or UPS (triple I guess). :(

So unless you can find your components in eBay where the sellers were people like you and me doing business to get extra incomes. They would be willing to send you the things in the cheapest way and making the least profits out of shipping and handling. I have ordered old Mac computers from eBay US and Canada and the computer only cost $10 or $20. But the shipping cost by sea to Malaysia is $45 to $60 (cos very heavy) and they would take 6 months to arrive. Some of them even get lost in transits and I never get my money back because it was not the sellers' fault.

I have tried eBay USA for you but nothing was found. Since you need the part urgently, I dont see you have much choice. If you started this project 6 months or even one year ago, you can try all the cheaper options. What happen if the DIY doesnt work satisfactorily? I didnt say you cannot try out the poorman's FSR. But you need a lot of time doing the testing and modifying cycles and time is what you're short of now........ :(

Just now I simulate placing an order from the link where you get you project from and the S/H for ordering 4x FSR402 is $34 by USPS and $206 by UPS. So from this you can see that the S/H cost is increasing each year.

Make your choice wisely and I wish you a successful project. ;)
