"Encoder With Plate" question?

Postby anh_risn » Tue May 17, 2011 5:05 pm

your product "Encoder With Plate" has disc slotted encoder to read the pulse from the phototransistor sensor, but seem like the disc slotted encoder has a big hole, I mean less number of hole for 1 rotation. Can I modify this disc so that it has many holes, and more resolution? what is the minimum of distance between holes that the phototransistor can read?

Yes, as yonghui said, you can create your own disc.

For the size, you will need to test. As long as it can fully block and fully un-block the sensor slot when it rotate.
