need your opinions to choose sensor

what the suitable sensor or component to use in detect the wire cut? In the case, i need to detect the location when 1 wire (telecom wire) is cut and this component/ sensor need to send the data to the pic controller. Pls advice, thanks.

Well, I am not familiar with this detection or application, but you might be able to search for some information by googling TDR.

TDR stand for Time Domain Reflectometry, and the device to perform this task is also call TDR - Time Domain Reflectometer.

If you just want to detect wire cut, just create a circuit like the picture below and check the output (HIGH or LOW)
