what the suitable sensor or component to use in detect the wire cut? In the case, i need to detect the location when 1 wire (telecom wire) is cut and this component/ sensor need to send the data to the pic controller. Pls advice, thanks.

what is meant by wire cut?
a scratch on wire ?
or total separated two pieces

ya.you are right.its need to detect the separate into two pieces wire on any point of the kilometer length by detecting the voltage on the wire.

I need to build an device to detect the separated wire (eg: TDR) . So i'm wondering which sensor or other component can be use and low cost.
