Medium range Infrared Sensor(Product Code: IR01A)

Postby Myline » Thu Dec 29, 2011 4:43 pm

Hi,guys,I get this sensor from Cytron product.
Anyone,who have experience with it?
My project used to detect the object in production line,
as u know the goods from production line is in motion.
If i using this sensor, will this sensor able to detect my object in production line?
Thank in advance.... :|

hi Myline
IR01A is very good sensor for the model version of production line, bcoz the effective detection range is around 1 feet and daylight sensitive....so if ur design is within that range its ok for u....but if u re looking for flexiblity with range upto 6 feets and daylight resistance....i suggest u turn to KEYENCE PZ2-42 that i had experience before...

Should be no problem, it can detect my hand waving, quite fast response

Anyway I think the range is not 1 feet, the spec is 10cm, but that is if the object have good reflective surface.... if using hand, my experience say is around 5 to 8cm only. So it do depend on the range of object from sensor.

Is that the output of signal of this sensor can connect to input of Xbeepro?
As what I know the signal voltage is 5V,XbeePro input is 3.3V,
if i step it down the voltage can it function as digital input for Xbee-Pro?

Is that the surface of the object must shinning
for a sensitivity to sensor...
If my object is 2cmx2cm is that able detect
by this sensor?
(Did u try before how small object can be detected)...
thank

...u can do that with the very minimum interfacing...no prob..
p/s..i got that keyence....from my previous project..!

Well, I think is fine, my hand is not shinning, but it can still detect.
2cm x 2cm is big enough, even a finger (~1cm) also can detect, still will depend on how is the sensor being position.
