Urgent! Diffuse sensor help!

Postby hellokitty9999 » Mon Feb 13, 2012 9:59 am

Hi, I have a diffuse sensor(PZ2-42 keyence sensor). Does anybody know the sensor output voltage and the voltage drop when the sensor sense something??

Information on the sensor:

Thank you

The output should be digital signal, HIGH or LOW. You can switch the output to give HIGH when it detects object in its range or to give LOW when the same condition occurs.

besides what kl84 highlighted, I think you should take a look at another thread:http://forum.cytron.com.my/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=11406

Looking at the datasheet, it is NPN output sensor, you will need to pull up.

Hi, do I need to put a resistor between the Vcc and the output?? And how to do the switch output HIGH when it detect objects??

There are 2 ways:

1. Change your software to detect active Low instead of active High.
2. Use another NPN transistor to invert the signal.

The sensor should have turnable knob, and there should be label of "L" and "D". Turn it and look at the output.
