Regarding Flexiforce and Flexibend sensors

Postby crozzX » Thu Apr 05, 2012 8:18 pm

Good day,
I would like to know what is the resistance range of the A201 flexiforce sensor? Under the "How it Works" section, it was shown in the sensor response graph that the Vout Vs Force graph is linear based on the recommended drive circuit, however the circuit was not shown. Is it the same as the "Example of Excitation Circuit"? In this context, does that circuit imply that the VT should be -5V?
As for the SN-FLX-01, is it safe to assume that the resistance range of the sensor is between 9k-22k ohm? Lastly, does the resistance of the SN-FLX-01 vary linearly as the sensor is flexed?

Thank you

hi,

i took a look on the datasheet of A201. refer to the usermanual of A201 there is a resistance curve graph which shows the R vs force curve. seems from the graph the resistance can go down less than 100kOhm if the force is more than 120lb. the sample circuit show is op am circuit. the equation of the output voltage can be calculated based on the op amp equation. the Vin+ and Vin- of the opamp is biased at 0V. from my opinion the VT range can be changed according to need and is related to VDD and Vss of the op amp.
thanks&regards,

The interface circuit is available in the FLEXCUserManual.pdf file that you can download from cytron.
