Compass Module Not Accurate

Postby hafiz99 » Thu Jun 21, 2012 3:10 am

Hello Pros

why compass module have an error about -+5degree when 180-360 and error +-10degree when 0-180.
when 0 to 180 Have accurate turn.. but when the (ranged 20 - 90) to (ranged 200 - 270) 180turn. it turn more than 180.

i thing need to calibrate. when i perform the calibration program. when check the heading it become very2 unstable =.= until i perform reset offset program =.= but still have an error =.=

Question...
What wrong?
it normal to have that error?
it that normal become unstable after calibration or step of calibration is wrong in the first place?

any method to minimize the error. or formula to minimize the error?

i have placed the compass module above 12cm above my robot =.= or need to be higher to avoid motor electromagnetic???
