hi im looking a sensor that useful in colour detection.
i plan to use light reflection idea by using led and some cheap ir receiver but i cant really get good result. i wonder any more better sensor for this?

IR will only detect amount of IR, not suitable to detect color, bare in mind, detection and differentiating color is two different thing.

You might want to try out photo diode, but I have never try it out, so just as suggestion.

Ir sensor is not suitable, u need photo diode which the detecteable wavelength is in the range of visible light. LDR can be used. but the response is slower, miliseconds if u dont mind.

or if u dont mind the cost. u can try TAOS sensor
