Accelerometer and Gyro

Postby alongpali » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:23 am

Hello, I have a problem regarding interface with electronic devices.
I am currently still new in this kind of stuff.
I already buy a few component from Cytron, which are adxl335, idg500, sk40c, and SmartDrive40.
I was making a balancing robot.
So that, could anyone show me Tutorial for interface between all these devices?
Did adxl335 and idg500 need to be connnected or just have interface with sk40c port?

Did you see this: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=11205

And you can just use sk40c port for adxl335 But, make sure the supply voltage is 3.3V. You need a regulator to convert your 5V to 3.3V.

Since IDG500 is operating at 5V you can just use sk40c to supply the voltage.

ADXL335: X, Y, Z -> analog pin 1, 2 , 3 of sk40c
IDG500: XOUT, YOUT -> analog pin 4, 5 of sk40c

Sorry.
Should I to connect single accelerometer and single gyro together?
or just need to program it?
for IMU, did it has connection between both sensor?

You dont need to connect them together. The IMU has both of them (gyro and accelerometer) but all of the input is connected to jumper so you can connect to your board. Take a look at their sch: http://www.cytron.com.my/usr_attachment/5DOF-v25.pdf
