my name is Hussein and I am 2nd year student in Electrical Engineering..

I am currently working in project to detect Tsunami when it happens under the water,,,
I am looking for sensor to detect the speed of the water if it's over the normal range the system will on (buzzer,sound,signals..etc) otherwise it will be off

here in Cytron i found this sensor: Water Flow Sensor

but I don't know if it's suitable for my project or not ? anyone know, please advice me ...

Water flow sensor apply to detect flow in the pipe. Let say water flow in the river, maybe you can test it. I think, it also working since water goes into the sensor.

May you a bit explain more about water flow sensor? or advice me to another sensor ?
