Sensor For Pedestrian

Postby ismasyariff » Mon Dec 31, 2012 11:48 am

Good day to every one 8-) 8-)
I'm new member here.
i Just want to ask somebody here in this forum who knows about Sensor that can be used for Pedestrian detection.
In the market there are many sensor can detect human presence like PIR, Ultrasonic, Microwave Sensor etc, but all this sensor was static sensor..
Mean that they install it on the wall and so on..
but what i want to ask is there any suggestion what type of sensor can be used (and attach it to vehicle) to detect human/pedestrian presence at distance about 7-10m from side and front of the car...
It is image sensor is compatible? :?: :?:

Thank You..

If you are serious about this, may be you can:

1. Buy a Kinect and hack it. Try google this topic. You shall find a lots of related projects.

OR

2. Get a webcam and do your image processing coding to detect human. OpenCV computer vision libraries may suit your need.

Might I add:

3. Get a webcam, attach it to Raspberry Pi, write the program with OpenCV libraries, and case closed. :)
PIC - UIC00B from Cytron (replacement for my broken PICKit 2), Pickit 3, MikroC for PIC
dsPIC - MikroC for dsPIC, mikromedia board (dsPIC33)
AVR - AVR Dragon
Parallax - Prop tool
