ultrasonic sensor SN-LV-EZ

Postby fzul90 » Wed Feb 27, 2013 7:38 pm

hi i want to use ultrasonic sensor SN-LV-EZ for my project. iwant to connect it to altera de2 board. can i know what is the output voltage of the sensor? because the I/Os on de2 board use 3.3V LVTTL standard. if its not 3.3V, then i need use voltage level translator.

Directly read the product page, the output have 3 type
-RS232 Serial Output - 9600bps
-Analog Output - 10mV/inch
-PWM Output - 147uS/inch

Output digital is 5V, if want interface to 3.3V MCU/FPGA, need to use Logic Converter.

The sensor can be powered from 2.5V to 5.5V, so I think you can try powering it with 3.3V and depends on which output you are using, the voltage will change.

As highlighted by shahrul, check the datasheet.

I want to use the PWM output. So if I powering it by using 3.3V is it still produce 3.3V. Do I still need to use logic converter then?
thanks..

if u power it 3.3v the output should be 3.3V oso and no logic converter is needed. u can verify it under oscilloscope.
thanks&regards,
