Replace sensor on MAXSONAR

Is it possible if i replace the on-board sensor with the one use for reverse parking system in car?
It has 2 pins and based max schematic i can see the onboard sensor also has 2 pins which make me think maybe it is OK
to replace it.
The reason i want to replace it because it is not waterproof (..is it?)..and my application required sensor(ultrasonic) to be placed at outdoor.
I already google around and as of now, couldnt find it..
so my next plan is to buy a box of reverse parking system, use its sensor to replace maxsonar onboard sensor..if possible..
any idea?
