hi,
im working on pick n place mobile robot project
currently im using 3 SN-E18-D80NK interfacing on arduino uno for obstacle avoidance..
im trying to use the same sensor to sense object at different distance, is it actually possible?
the plan is like this, when middle sensor detect far object (30cm), it will approach it and when the distance is near (5cm) it will send signal to arduino so that the robot can grip the object..
if the sensor is not possible to do it, any recommendation or suggestion on other method or sensor?
thank you in advance

If you are using the sensor, you should know it is degital. The detection distance is preset. It cannot give you distance between obstacle.

You may try the Sharp analog distance sensor: http://www.cytron.com.my/viewProduct.ph ... %20(4-30cm)
