Automatic Wiper Speed Controller

Postby Khuwarizmi » Fri Aug 22, 2014 7:20 pm

Hi, can i ask what can i use for my final year project (automatic wiper speed controller)? can you suggest any ideas? my plan is want to use piezoelectric sensor that can detect pressure from the rain force. the stronger the frequency from rain force, the faster the motor movement. btw, i want to use servo motor that use with arduino. the problem in my project is to find the piezoelectric sensor is to hard. can you suggest any sensor other than piezoelectric sensor that have same function with it? and do you this circuit will be ok? or its too simple?

The schematic u share is not using piezo as sensor. See this rain sensor

so, can I replace the rain sensor to piezoelectric sensor?

i think quite depends on yr application. for piezoelectric , it will detect any pressure, not neccesary to be rain drop, wind pressure will also give signal. i think you will need to verify whether water on piezo surface will affect the signal or not since water is conductive.

Ow, i see. Thats true. I want to use piezoelectric sensor because my project depend on rain force. So, in your opinion, what sensor that i can use for my project? Other than piezoelectric? Tq.
