Detect using PIR motion Sensor

Postby venu » Mon May 21, 2018 10:36 pm

how to detect how long a person is inside the room using PIR motion sensor?
1 = motion detected
0 = no motion
when i go into the room, since there is the motion the output is "1",then in a few milliseconds output shows "0" while i'm still inside and giving motion, then when i come out its shows "1". I have check the sensitivity as well the time delay on the motion sensor, the output still the same.

any other way to measure the time taken for a person inside the room ?
any other suitable sensor instead of motion sensor ?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi venu,

You can manipulate the signal and action using program. How about when the sensor detects motion, it will count let say 5 seconds. So everytime it detects, the count will reset to 5s.

There have another sensor which provide better result which is Microwave Radar - Human motion Sensor. You can check out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9-q2klKJ280.
