Postby HUSSEINMOHSEN » Wed Mar 06, 2013 2:32 am

hello good evening all brilliant friends, I would like to ask, I am really confused and not specified in communication/wireless systems at all, but I am having project therefore I need your guidance if possible..

I am using Arduino Uno, I have a machine having sensor operating specified in range, when it comes over the range I want the the transmitter to send DANGER(or any output indicate there is warning) word from my machine and be displayed on the laptop screen,,, there must be transmitter, receiver system,,,

but which xbee i can use for that ??xbee s1,xbee s2, SKXBEE-BOARD,or XBEE STARTER KIT???
and how can I use it, coz xbee tutorial got many pages and I don't know which system is proper for my project, appreciate

so you mean I should use
SKBEE-XBEE1 STARTER KIT as my Receiver (because it has USB plug to the laptop)

what about the transmitter ?
should I use SKBEE-XBEE1 STARTER KIT as well ?? or just XBEE1 ??
like this

if the device can measure the range, then any wireless device can do the work for communication. Anyway, XBee will be the easiest to use.

You can use the XBee shield since you are using Arduino. Xbee series one of Xbee series 2 work fine.

XBee series 1 is more common.

SKXBee is easier as suggested by yonghui because it have the USB port for computer connection.
