PR25 and PC database record

Postby michelle.tai23 » Mon Mar 16, 2015 2:37 pm

Hi, may I know how to combine the PR25 and wireless rfid reader using xbee(as below llink)? I mean write and read the tag, save password and at the same time have back end database to the pc so that we can review back the record of in and out from the pc.

I urgently need your advise. Thanks.

There is no simple 123 step for any integration except you are familiar with the system :)

1. The PR25 is using RS232 RFID reader, it can only read the RFID tag, it cannot write into the RFID tag. The RFID tag have unique ID, no memory. So your read and write is not possible.
2. What do you mean by save password? I do not see where the password come from in both the DIY and tutorial.

Please share a system overview if possible so we could have better idea.

Yup, PR25 is using Weigand reader, yet even weigand RFID reader is passive RFID reader, it can only read the RFID tag's ID, it cannot write into the tag.

That is possible, you need to do it part by part.

since the PCB from PR25 already have the power and UART to RS232 converter,if I use RS232/ wiegand reader, so izzit mean that I can ignore the URS232A and BB-USB-AR? and then, how do I connect the BPS-5-3 to PIC (for LCD reading purpose)?

If you are using weigand, the connection is on the PR25, no extra stuff needed. If you are using RS232, you will still need UART to RS232 converter as the PR25 have UART only.

BPS-5-3 is meant for breadboard, so use it on breadboard. To connect it with PIC? Check the tutorial, there are plenty of tutorial that you can refer. One of the tutorial is Loading Program. For LCD, again, there are tons of tutorial and schematic :)

You will need to try and learn it.
